Landscape biography
LANDSCAPE is a melodic prog rock band from Netherlands with female clean vocals that has many progressive elements with a focus on melody and mood rather than virtuosity and heaviness. But some heavy guitar riffs are still present that made their sound similar to bands like SIEGE EVEN and DREAM THEATER. Their softer passages in their music with the female vocals remind us MOSTLY AUTUMN.

The founding members Dennis STAINT (guitar) and Joris WITTENBURG ( bass, synths, sax) met during their university studies in 1995. In 1997 Dennnis co-founded the rock band COUNTERPOINT in which Joris joined to begin writing songs and performed live. But the band started to make progressive rock music with their latest project Landscape. They were in search of a vocalist which was not a easy task. Finally Sandra SMITH joined the band as a vocalist. The cd Staring at Utopia was released in 2012 and ready to go live, the band is still writing new music.
