4 stars Good album but a disappointment after the brilliant "Pure". The sound is the same, the use of guitar as a rythmic instrument rather than a melodic one is pushed a bit further on this album. Unfortunately I would say. And inspiration is also lacking here. You can use a guitar riff for a while but throughout a whole piece it is a bit annoying. The only quiet piece ("Your Black Heart") is so much less moving than "It's only me" on the last album. No melody on this CD is as effective as the Comatose suite on "Pure" either.

So this album is just ok, but don't expect much more. I hope the next one will regain the inspiration that Pendragon is so accustomed with. I miss the old tunes. I want them back with new sounds and regained inspiration !
