SELLING ENGLAND BY THE POUND

Again a superb album from Genesis. I'm not really enamoured by "More fool Me". "The Battle of Epping Forest" is very entertaining lyrically however the track is way too "busy" for me although it isn't a bad track - it isn't a classic for me either. "Dancing with the Moonlit Knight" is a giant track and I love it. "I know what I like in your Wardrobe" was a bit of a radio hit for Genesis and I really enjoy the track. "Firth of Fifth" is brilliant, as is "The Cinema Show". In order to gain a better understanding of this album I've watched the Genesis on the making of "Selling England......" interview involving all of the band members and I will say that Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett are really nice guys. I won't say more than that however. Possibly, though, I'm picking up on a rift between some of the members relating to who stayed and who left the band ultimately. I can't, relating to my own thoughts, rate this album as high as I rated "Foxtrot" in that where that album had no holes this one does. So - a 4 star rating from me as there are brilliant classic Genesis tracks however there are tracks that don't quite make the grade for me.
