LET'S ALL TAKE THE YELLOW PILLS

Full-fledged album or EP, this is my favourite CAUDAL release so far. Generally they describe their approach with the label trance punk. Okay?! Clocking in at about 35 minutes a pure kraut rock affair though on this occasion. As for the main approach reminding me of Achim Reichel's A.R. & Machines, reduced when it comes to the instruments on the other hand. I mean it's somewhat familiar due to Aidan Baker's looping and echoed guitar playing first and foremost. He and drummer Felipe Salazar both are also working with the Berlin based Hypnodrone Ensemble. The latter volunteering with propulsive and motoric rhythms, alongside with post-punk approved Gareth Sweeney on the bass.

No, not a result of drugged jam sessions. I'm sure they did not take it too seriously with the album title. Three songs are given, all played with responsible attitude and full concentration. Really well done. Especially the extended core track Dissolute makes my day, while offering a fantastic atmosphere overall. They are starting with a special trance charm, later evolving into a heavier strong-willed vibe, featuring a lot of suspense too. Thus my verdict is that 'Let's All Take The Yellow Pills' makes it to a successful neo kraut creation.
