Noise Trail Immersion biography
A post-black metal group from Turin, Italy, Noise Trail Immersion have released three albums an EP since their inception in 2013. Their most recent lineup consists of founding members Fabio Rapetti (vocals; formerly of Thirst Prayer), Lorenzo Sirotto (bass; formerly of Alcor) and Daniele Vergine (guitars), along with Nebil Jabnoun (guitars) and Simone Crivello (drums). Under their self-admittedly meaningless moniker, Noise Trail Immersion play a fusion of mathcore and black metal, seeking to constantly challenge themselves and their audience while deconstructing the genres they adore. With Vergine the main composer and Rapetti the lyricist, the band explained their theme as "a stream of consciousness dealing with various aspects of the human experience, from the inner relationship with the Self to the role of faith and the question of escaping from nihilism." Noise Trail Immersion cite Altar of Plagues, Deathspell Omega, Ulcerate, Dodecahedron and the Secret as among their primary musical inspirations.

The only release to feature early member Raoul Dalboni (drums), Noise Trail Immersion's 2014 self-titled EP introduced their mathcore/grind hybrid to the world. The post-and black metal elements only hinted at were fully realised on their first LP, Womb, jointly released through Moment of Collapse Records and Triton's Orbit in 2016. Fusing additional influences from dissonant death metal and dark ambient, Womb marked an advanced leap forward in the band's sound. Founding guitarist Davide Giovara left Noise Trail Immersion in 2017 to be replaced by Jabnoun, with Rapetti's fellow Thirst Prayer bandmate Paolo Mingoni inducted the same year, later to be swapped out for Crivello in 2020. Noise Trail Immersion's 2018 sophomore, Symbology of Shelter, was again released via Moment of Collapse and became the most positively acclaimed work in their discography, taking their established template to its peak with their most mature, refined songwriting yet.

Signing to I, Voidhanger Records in 2021, the band's third LP, Curia, followed later that year. Its production delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the album demonstrated an abstract take on Noise Trail Immersion's signature sound, making good their promise to scale back the mathcore component in favour of folk noir and contemporary classical touches, along with greater influence from Kayo Dot and Amia Venera Landscape.
