ANOMUS

Anomus biography
ANOMUS are a five piece band from Finland who's roots can be traced back to 2002 and were formed by Antti Piikki (guitar) and Antti Paakki (bass). Initial sessions playing covers and jamming soon developed into something a bit more serious and the band started to write their own material. Over the years the line has stabilized to include alongside the founder members Toni Tikkanen (vocals), Ville Keinänen (guitar, keyboards) and Antto Hinkkanen (drums, percussion).

The band's sound has changed considerably since those early years, in part down to improvements in musicianship. Early days saw the band adopt a more straight rock approach with some punk, pop and metal influences. Over the years the band evolved through a number of self-released E.P's to their more progressive sound today which can be described as a blend of alternative rock, prog and metal. The band's diverse influences include PORCUPINE TREE, OPETH, CMX (also from Finland), SMASHING PUMPKINS, FAITH NO MORE, TORI AMOS and RYAN ADAMS.

They released their eponymous debut album in late 2011 which is available via digital download.
