Flying Island biography
FLYING ISLAND was a Connecticut based jazz rock band led by violinist Faith FRAIOLI, keyboardist Jeff BOVA and drummer Bill BACON. The group released only two unfairly obscure records in the 70's which might remind of RETURN TO FOREVER or MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA amongst others. Not much is known about their activities during the group's short life. After the band dissolved, out of more known members, BACON went on to become a part of MATERIAL, CURLEW and one of the incarnations of GONG, FRAIOLI had a low key career but contributed to FATES WARNING in the 80's and Jeff BOVA became a more known studio musician and record producer who worked with Bill LASWELL, Herbie HANCOCK, IRON MAIDEN and many other mainstream artists.
