Progressive Biography

I am one of the very few, if not only, members of this website who hails from India. Like, a resident Indian.

How this came to be is a story in itself. But to give you the TL DR version, I stumbled upon this website while browsing the internet about progressive rock (wiki had told me Pink Floyd is progressive rock). Since then, I have discovered a wealth of music I love dearly thanks largely to my association with this website.

There are very few prog sub genres that I haven't tried or wouldn't touch. I will freely confess neo prog doesn't particularly interest me but then again, I am a huge Fish-Marillion fan too so go figure. I come from metal and enjoy the direction(s) prog metal has taken in recent years - a more extreme and guitar oriented direction with touches of jazz juxtaposed along side. But I love the golden oldies, needless to say - Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, ELP, Gentle Giant, Tull, etc. And yes, as you can tell, I am a huge Renaissance fan. But like so many other of the long time members, I have liked the work of so many artists by now that picking favourites feels like a futile exercise.
