Progressive Biography

Born Feb 1, 1962, Mexico City.

Music has been an integral part of my formation, although opposite to my graphic work, my music learnings have always been kept away from central european music schools, in purpose to develop my music songwriting from within, as opposed to what happened with my visual arts which are close to the classic Greek school ideal of beauty and expression.

Therefore in this personal music quest, I had the luck to encounter top of the game mexican musicians and composers (1*Jorge Ritter, 2*Jorge Miller, 3*Carlos Robledo, and 3*Walter Schmith, and many others), that although a bit older than me accepted me in their circles.

So from one of Mexico's great 1* contemporary classic music composers and virtuoso, I was introduced to Steve Reich and oddly also to Roxy Music. From my guitar 2*teacher inevitably, Progressive music was something to be aware of, as Classical, and the best part of Rock music in all of its forms (as the freedom to compose instead of rehearsing my homework!). Then the great mexican RiO 3* "Decibel" band (included here in PA), openned my eyes to the universe of underground progressive electronics and the, then in diapers, "Rock in Opposition" musical movement.

Adding to that my personal and organic kinship with the "Blues and Jazz" scene. From Muddy Waters to Django Reinhardt to Lightning Hopkins to John Coltrane to Art Tatum, and all that falls in between..............................!

I do appreciate a great performance, but in my book, composition and all it implies, comes first.
