Why would a dead guy look better than a living one?
|
More importantly, why would a guy with (fake) blasted eyes and bloody forehead look better than a clean (at least from a distance) one with his two eyes intact?

Here's my take on it: I'm celebrating the "progress" (in quotations since I know that it's debatable as to how much this action will actually do in bringing the conflict to a close) and the moral victory that Osama's death brings our country, not his actual death. I still have reservations about celebrating any sort of death, regardless of how evil the person was or how many lives he was responsible for taking. I felt the same way when Saddam was executed (though I'm also against the death penalty so that may be a bit irrelevant to this situation). Am I glad Osama is out of the picture? Oh most definitely. Am I going to be dancing on his grave like most everyone else? No.

Me thinks it's on the verge of trolling. But I could be wrong.

About half the people here do not want anyone at all to die, while the other half or so want everyone's head on a platter.

I just want some balance. Some 100,000 civilians have been killed in Iraq post 9/11. No one will ever be brought to book over this and that is wrong.

How many US soldiers have died since 9/11? How many Iraqis? Hoy many Afghans? I guess Bin Laden's head was quite the expensive prize... (though we all know that was just the excuse...)

is he really dead? All we have for that is the statement that he was identified by a DNA-sample. But his body was burned and his ashes scattered over the sea, so we have to take the words of the Americans for it. Read my post in the "Your memories of 9/11" thread.

^Apparently, anybody who casts any shadow of a doubt over the assassination is a lunatic, so I wouldn't say that...
Actually, though the whole thing is rather fishy, I think Obama is really dead. This conspiracy would be too hard to cover up ( I guess..)

True...all we have is the comments by the President of the US....I have heard that they are not sure if/when photos will be released of the body. Eventually phots of Saddam were released right?
So much speculation, but I also wonder if the disposal of the body was videotaped as well as pictures taken.
"Is he really dead?" asks many questions...

Well, Bush invaded the only Anti- Al Quida country in the Arab world. Incompetence is though not a crime in itself. I would not go for him though. I would go for this Cheney bloke who used his position to grab as much money he could for his company Halliburton. His tender for McDonalds and Burger King hamburgers for Iraq was 4 x more expensive than what the others offered. So he got the job and the tax payers picked up the bill. The same goes for rebuilding of Iraq. British countries was royally screwed by Cheney who bagged the jobs himself. Those who exposed his corruption was sued and put on gagging orders. There are thousands of people in USA put on gagging orders because they used the corruption word. So, leave Bush alone. Take Cheney instead. This was his war and his bankrobbery. Why he is not in jail is the reason why I passed up on the offer for a green card. I prefer countries without blatant corruption.
