^ I never heard that Brainticket album although I'd still have to listen to many other albums before reaching that one.

I'll extend your question to Steve, what do you guys think of Saw Delight? I never heard it.

Also this week:
Lucy in Blue - In Flight (Melodic Space Rock band with nice retro production, that avoids being too mellow and too heavy for the genre.)
The Cosmic Trip Advisors - Wrong Again, Albert... (A Psych Blues Rock fix.)
Soft Machine - Bundles (I completely forgot how good this album is.)
Masayoshi Takanaka ‎– An Insatiable High
Tangerine Dream - Oedipus Tyrannus (It's a shame it wasn't released separately.)
Ben Levin Group - Freak Machine (It doesn't rock as much as the live version.)
Bruno Pernadas - Those Who Throw Objects at Crocodiles Will Be Asked to Retrieve Them (New album coming out this year, I'm pretty excited :D )
Dixie Dregs - What If (Never heard of them before and it's very much to my liking.)
Flash - Flash (I always liked early Yes and thought Peter Banks playing is really cool but never listened to Flash. Maybe because of the covers, but I'm glad I got past that. I wish they had a better singer though.)
Finch - Galleons of Passion (It's their least interesting but very comforting album.)

Rush— Signals (mofi original master recording)
Rush— moving Pictures ( mofi original master recording .)

Nice choice on Signals Nick I span that last night as well. Still my favourite Rush album hands down.

Btw, yesterday:
Rush - Signals
Vangelis - Antarctica
Vangelis - Earth
Eldberg - Heimur Hugans (why are these guys so incredibly overlooked? Sort of like Sigur Ros but with balls and a production/sound that feels like 1972)
Boards Of Canada - Geogaddi
Didier Bocquet - Voyage Cérébral
Lindstrøm - Where You Go I Go Too
Raccomandata Ricevuta Ritorno - Per...Un Mondo Di Cristallo

Damn!!! I keep forgetting about AOTY

^ I'll have to give Eldberg a listen. Speaking of Icelandic bands, I think you'd like Lucy In Blue as well.

Pond - Hobo Rocket
Rush - Roll the Bones (Coincidentely, I was listening to it when I read about Neil.)
Hooffoot - The Lights in the Aisle Will Guide You
Lucy In Blue - In Flight
Yellow Magic Orchestra - Yellow Magic Orchestra

Pink Floyd | Wish You Were Here (2011 Experience edition, bonus disc)
Lingua Ignota | Caligula
Pink Floyd | 1972 Obfusc/ation disc 2 (Live at Pompeii)
Pink Floyd | 1965-67 Cambridge St/ation disc 2
Godley & Creme | Freeze Frame
Alice Cooper | Special Forces
Can | Monster Movie
Can | Tago Mago

Those Floyd sets are a dream come true. I’ve had em a couple of years but I’m still amazed by their comprehensiveness and overall quality. Granted, it helps to be an early Floyd fanatic.

Jury’s still out on Lingua Ignota. I love the idea of it, but I haven’t made it through the whole thing yet. It’s harrowing and a bit scary in spots, but oddly lacking in depth. I’ll keep working at it. Heck I already bought it.

Mine too, David!!!

2nd for me would be Grace Under Pressure. I’ll never forget the first time I heard ‘Between the wheels.’
It was this magical moment hearing this insane drummer just purely showing off and I loved it. :)

Having a great bit of free time here. Love when the kid goes to bed early. :)

APP— I Robot (MFSL master.) An absolute badass. This album is forever a desert island take for me.

Simple Minds— The American (Single). Awesome. Love The American Track. Such a beat. )

Iron Maiden— Virus (Single) Say what you will about the Blaze Baylay era of Maiden, but Virus is a track that absolutely destroys. The Nigel Green mixing is insanely awesome and after this single (1996) Iron Maiden would never record an album with great DNR.

Symphony X— Iconoclast ( Disc 1 only.) This was a beautiful revisit and back to my prog metal roots.

Royal Hunt— Best of...Live (1996) . Got a killer Japanese edition of this album and it is the best live album I’ve got from the Hunt. :) DC Copper absolutely owns on this disc.

More to come later...

Samuel: thanks man I’ll give those guys a whirl. Always up for some more Icelandic music to add to the old collection

Nick: Huh? That actually surprises me somewhat..not that I didn’t know you had stellar taste in music, but I somehow thought your fave had been something like Permanent Waves or Moving pictures

Godspeed You! Black Emperor | Lift Yr Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven — classic, never gets old, never feels too long

Gong | You — used to be one of my alltime favorites but somehow it fell off that list and I hardly ever listen to it anymore. But this listen reaffirmed why I like it so much. Sure, i know every note so it can’t surprise me anymore, but it’s still groovy to the max.

Zappa | Burnt Weeny Sandwich — “majestic” is a word that comes to mind. Not a lot of Zappa earns that description

Jandek | Modern Dances — mad, mad stuff. Mostly electric, often aggressive, sometimes completely ridiculous.

James Ferraro | Edward Flex Presents: Maui Black Out / Liquid Bikini Summer — not even sure how to describe this guy. Been into him a year or so

Julian Cope | Fried — Cope’s discography’s truly amazing. Once I listen to one album I usually have to listen to 2-3 more. This one has him dressed in a tortoise shell on the cover, and has some incredible introspective tunes on it.

Julian Cope | Peggy Suicide — a couple of albums later, he’s shifted gears and found a new focus, still accessible but more daring.

Julian Cope | Black Sheep — a more recent one, and he seems to get weirder and crankier and more kickass with age.

well both are incredible albums and they are up there, but Signals rules them all for me. I have 3 different copies of it as well including a 5.1 mix. I can’t get enough it. A perfect album. Hands down. I think Grace under Pressure is an honorable mention as well.
You know the goods as well, Dave. One of the best music pallets you definitely have. Way more diverse than myself.

Alright. Tonight’s showstoppers. :)

Aretha Franklin— Aretha’s Gold ( MFSL SACD Master. )

ALCEST— Spiritual Instinct. ( amazing album and addictive. I’ve spun this one a lot lately. )

Fields of the Nephilim— Psychonaut ( 1989 Maxi single. ) best version of Celebrate exists on this single. I really can’t wait till Carl McCoy gets sh*t in gear and finally releases a follow up to 2005’s Mourning Sun.

Ray Charles — The Genius Sings The Blues ( MFSL SACD Master. ) - I love this disc. Man it is pure heart and soul and a great Mono recording!

Metallica— The Videos ( 1987- 2004) - Holy f**k! Has anyone ever had the pleasure of hearing this incredible dvd audio? Before any of you die, you gotta hear a 5.1 mix of ONE. I cried. Lol.
