No, I have the CD. But with CD/Mp3 I tend to find myself doing other stuff than with vinyl where I really try and sit and do nothing but listen and soak it in so to speak.

I agree with you wholeheartedly....it is an epic pc! Clap

Now THAT is an epic piece I never get tired of hearing!!  The whole album is fantastic as well, of course.  I've always really loved "Just This Once", "Merrygoround", and the title track, but I think everything on there is good to great.

Oh, by the way...........over at Radiant records on April Fools day they did a big sale, which wasn't a joke!  I picked up So Many Roads (3CD), Testimony 2 Live (3 CD's, 2 DVD's), and Kaliveoscope (3 CD's, 1 DVD) for $7.99 each.  I wasn't really planning on getting any of these, but for that price I figured what the heck.  So I'll have Neal Morse overload for the next few weeks Wink

Actually, it will probably take a while to get through all that, especially the DVD's (since I rarely watch concert DVD's anyway).  Still, couldn't pass up the cheap prices.

I have been digging back in my collection and pulling out stuff I hadn't heard in years.  Anyone ever heard the band Horizont?  Russian band that made very interesting prog in the mid-1980's.  I had forgotten how good their "Summer In Town" album was.  It starts with pure symphonic prog, almost in the Yes vein, before veering off into RIO/avante territory by the end.  3 long tracks.  No one seems to know what happened to these guys, but it's just amazing they created this music at the height of the Soviet Unions power.  Good stuff.

Oh, I also picked up the latest Neal Morse album, which was more expensive than any of those other sets I bought, at $12.99 for the single disk version, but what the heck, I have all of his other prog solo releases so why not that one too?

Yeah, 1985 actually.  Crazy that something so good came out at that time, from the Soviet Union, no less!

I have not spun Grand Experiment yet, probably this weekend.  I really haven't gotten much out of Momentum, so I'm hoping this one will be better (though I do like the first and last tracks on Momentum, similar to my feelings about Lifeline).

^ Lifeline is ok, I like Momentum better.....As my wife said when seeing the Momentum Tour, that music was more accessible than T2 Tour. A different topic but the setlist for Momentum was more enjoyable than T2.

Thoughts pt2, World WE are very good and Weathering Sky was much better live.

Well, yeah, Momentum is better than Lifeline, that's for sure.  I did listen to the first track of TGE.......sounds like a typical Morse opener.  In other words, I like it a lot Big smile  Will listen to the rest over the weekend.

Haha! and just listened to the antidote to Morse's religious woo-woo - Nightwish's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" - very Ayreon like and a superb female singer who I liked...and superb talked passages by the one and only Tricky Dicky Dawkins....The 24 minute epic to end is superb - 78 minutes of sheer entertainment - gothic/Medieval prog/metal at it's finest !!!

starting with a transatlantic vibe, then ta tata moving head side to side and then the vocals kick in in, while sound not dropping, while having a tune playing in the background, overlapping musical layers, guitars adding to the vocal experience, up to the lead break again with rhythm and tunes taking one into a fantastic listening experience with the synths going one way while guitars on another tune and vocals (kicking in Jon Anderson like) spot on time, then giving way to the instrumentals again letting them take the lead inc. funny noises, soft and heavy naughty ones.
Fantastic track this is!

Nightwish is just not my cup of tea.  Really don't care for prog metal much at all (gave up on DT a while ago, after hearing the first non-Portnoy album).  To be fair, the last Nightwish album I heard was back in 2005 or so, and I do like Ayeron, so maybe I should look for a track or samples.  An old friend of mines 19 year old son is a big fan though.
