I was about 21 then....i just met my 1st wife who worked at BBC TV Centre in Wood lane, and part of her job was to " look after" the TOTP guests, including the Rubettes! we used to watch the show from the gallery, and i also saw many interesting people in the bar! happy days...

...and yes Peter, I liked "Seasons In The Sun", too  (not an indication of emotion, just how particularly sad that admission is)

Thanks! That was pretty cool -- though I don't recall hearing it before.
 Hammond's voice, clever lyrics & feel-good style sort of reminds me of Howard Werth. Ever hear Audience?

I was told that sometimes Ney Matogrosso was arrested after such performances in his gigs. That should be too much for our so judicious dictatorship.

One of my all-time WORST 70s songs (and a huge hit) -- the very definition of SAPPY!
