Agree with the Crimson's covers...
Lizard is quite good, even though nothing special.
In the Court is great, really fits with the name of the album.
Islands I totally agree with you...
Lark's...: isn't special, rather weak but not ugly.

^Except for the excellent cover of Lizard, I agree. Islands is ok, In the Court... is awful, and In the Wake... even worse.

Has anyone mentioned Going For the One yet?
A bare assed guy in front of some shyscrapers...huh?
I have always found the first 4 or 5 King Crimson album covers to be,not ridiculous, but kind of ugly.

Love theese three. The compostitions and fonts looks pretty thought-thru. All motives are strange and surreal, but charming or atleast funny. Can't find things like that in almost any new progcovers.

Btw: My alltime favorite progcover is Nursery Cryme, though. Dispite its clumsyness and naivety, its got an unique atmosphere that's been haunting me ever since i first saw, and bought it.

Now here's two real 70's disasters (from 80's and on they're to many to choose from):

Rick Wakeman Rhapsodies (79)

Semiramis Dedicato a frazz (73)

I think the Abacab cover is great. But the Invisible Touch cover is rather cheap, IMHO.

Ok you got me.The wakeman cover is sort of naff, and the bottom one looks like my neighbour on a good day.ConfusedThats frightening.LOLReminds me of that green lady painting you always find hanging in barber shops, thats even more frightening. Its the thought of having a hair cut.Unhappy

Having some bad tastes I do find the whale cover interesting.
