^ & ^^ Thanks to you both. Originally I was thinking about making this eight albums. If that were the case, then Gentle Giant for its first eight would be one of my favourites. I especially like the early albums.

A fave of mine is Art Zoyd:

Symphonie pour le jour où brûleront les cités (1976 version)
Musique pour l'Odyssée (1979)
Génération sans futur (1980)
Symphonie pour le jour où brûleront les cités (1981 version)
Phase IV (1982)
Les espaces inquiets (1983)
Le mariage du ciel et de l'enfer (1985)
Berlin (1987)
Faust (1996)
Haxan (1997)

Magma (with Magma I would love to do lives, but keeping with the program and even then 10 is too limiting):

Magma [Kobaïa] (1970)
1001° centigrades (1971)
Magma (reissued as Kobaïa)
Mëkanïk Dëstruktïẁ Kömmandöh (1973)
Ẁurdah Ïtah (1974, originally Tristan & Iseult by Christian Vander)
Köhntarkösz (1974)
Üdü Ẁüdü (1976)
Attahk (1978)
Ëmëhntëhtt-Ré (2009)
Félicité Thösz (2012)

Still love KA, Rïah Sahïltaahk, Sl*g Tanz and others. Magma iss de hundin.

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I observed before. It can be much like that with music for me; immersed in experiencing the moment.

I wanted to focus on some acts with longer discographies and thought I'd ask what are you top ten studio albums (LPs and EPs) for some of your favourite bands or artists?

I'll start with one in PA and one not in PA which had my first and second place albums for 2023, and where both acts have been very significant to me over recent years.

In PA, Swans:

Children of God (1987)
White Light From the Mouth of Infinity (1991)
The Great Annihilator (1995)
Soundtracks for the Blind (1996)
My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky (2010)
The Seer (2012)
To Be Kind (2014)
The Glowing Man (2016)
leaving meaning. (2019)
The Beggar (2023)

Not in PA, Sufjan Stevens:

A Sun Came (2000)
Enjoy Your Rabbit (2001)
Michigan (2003)
Seven Swans (2004)
Illinois (2005)
The BQE (2009)
All Delighted People EP (2010, and an hour long)
The Age of Adz (2010)
Carrie & Lowell (2015)
Javelin (2023)
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I observed before. It can be much like that with music for me; immersed in experiencing the moment.
