I was 11 in 1974, and am happy to report that I have absolutely no recollection of that song.

I was 12 then, into Alice Cooper and loathed the Bay City crappers.

I still love some The Sweet songs because they are good rock songs like Ballroom Blitz and The Sixteens Approve , way better than the average commercial glamrock like child molester Alvin Stardust Angry

About minus 14 year old- I'm 18 now, but I know that song. It really is the lowest common denominator, truly dreadful pap pop, and a smack in the eye to all those who insist music should be kept accessible and short. Such nonsense was seemingly rife in the 70s- 'Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep', 'Freedom Come Freedom Go', 'Son Of The Father', The Bay City Rollers, Showaddywaddy...just dreadful, dreadful stuff.
 
The Sweet often complained about being puppets to Chinn and Chapman. Their singles are kind of fun but very campy- the albums, though extremely patchy, have some really heavy stuff that's far above the glam rock tag as some songs even move into occasionally progressive realms. But don't worry, I'm NOT proposing The Sweet for prog related!!LOL

I was at about 13 and I hated it, that polished and predictable pop, made by cunning big money making tune-smiths duo's like Chinn & Chapman Thumbs Down ...
