This is Jazz oriented with some Canterburyan touches (more than jazz). It is a kind of band that don't like to the many, but very interesting. Not completely Avant but valid, I think.
This sounds promising, found clips on Youtube. Going to pursue this one

A new Italian band more Canterbury oriented and more similar to RPI with jazz touches...curious and interesting...
Added recently to PA, under RIO/Avant. Cool stuff too.

Unique band...for this I hope you became more curious...so enjoy it!!
This one was suggested early on in the thread. I can't recall if I found the album to listen to or not, so I'm going to try again.

Such a lovely art work, that truly encapsulates the music within: beautiful and disturbing all at once.
Just coming back to my thread for a visit, since I was on a weirdo Italian kick again lately, and enjoyed this thing here. I thought I knew what was coming, but it offered quite a few surprises. Thanks!~

Thank you, Marco!!
Two of those are actually in the process of being reviewed by my evaluation team (RIO/Avant), so I was going to get to them soon anyway (N.A.D.M.A. and Litai). I think I may have heard Gruppo D'Alternativa already, or maybe I tried to find some online but couldn't. Anyway, I will get back to you. The Quest Continues!

Ok Steve, nice to meet you...here is Marco.
There are a lot of bands jazz oriented, or better for you avant. Let's start with 3 or 4 bands, in the way that you have the time to find and listen to them...
1. Duello Madre - Duello Madre - 1973
This is Jazz oriented with some Canterburyan touches (more than jazz). It is a kind of band that don't like to the many, but very interesting. Not completely Avant but valid, I think.
2. N.A.D.M.A. - Uno Zingaro Di Atlanta Con Un Fiore A new York - 1973
Very strange band more avant than the previous, but more incomprehensible than any other band!!! Interesting because is maybe the lonely band to play this strange fusion of Oriental and Occidental culture sounds. It seems that the instruments want to run away by the hands of musicians!! Strange but it is so...
3. Litai - Litai - 2012
A new Italian band more Canterbury oriented and more similar to RPI with jazz touches...curious and interesting...
4. Gruppo D'Alternativa - Ipotesi - 1972
Unique band...for this I hope you became more curious...so enjoy it!!
