Opening game syndrome usually means draw or low score.
Costa Rica arent really good enough to be in the competition so I predict: 2-0. I wouldnt be surprised if it was 4-0!
Poland v Ecuador difficult,maybe 0-0 or 1-1.

Costa Rica is going to be like Greece in the last European Championships, and they'll start off with beating Germany. Seriously though, Germany wins 2-0.

These opening games have a habit of producing upsets.......9-man Cameroon kicking lumps out of & beating Argentina.........Senegal (aka France II) beating France........and all the "little" teams (apologies, but...) have one good game in them.......so Germany 1: Costa Rica 1..........

I hope Costa Rica would win, but I'm afraid that's not going to happen.

I think that polish team will do a great world cup, they have the potential to acces to the semi finals, but i said the same last world cup and they played really bad. They alwas make a great team work and they are a well balanced (offensive- deffensive) team. กกก GO ARGENTINA !!

No World Cups in Indonesia....though surfing's equivalent has been held on Sumatra. Man, wish I were there.
South Korea is my choice....gotta root for the hometown team!

^ yea i think its kinda more pressure if Brazil wants to win twice in a row... But really, if they can do that, Brazil is the real champion of all time...
I heard Indonesia once had been in World Cup, yeeeeeaaaaarrrrsss ago, when i wasnt born yet, is that true?? for people who have lived linger than me...

I will support my country's national team but I don't believe Brazil will be the champion (maybe the team reaches quarter-finals).
I'd prefer to see (with Brazil out) a "new" champion like Czech Republic or Netherlands or Mexico... |
Is this just a superstitious thing, not wanting to tempt fate, or do the Brazilian people know something we don't? Everyone else thinks you guys are odds-on favourites......... |
We are concerned that presently to win twice in a row is very difficult... I guess (except for the most fanatics) that people here will be satisfied if we advance until the quarter-finals.
However, present Brazilian team is better than 2002 team but for a short tournament where you can decide the result via penalty kicks, everything is possible.
For imoeng: the other team in the group is Croatia.
For US fans: USA Soccer Team is improving from Cup to Cup; it's their 5th World Cup in a row. IMO considering the support given to sports, the ethnic diversity and the funds, I believe that USA have great chances to become a football power soon.
For Poland fans: I saw great Polish teams in the 70s... but I confess that I knew few about the present team. If they play like Boniek, Deyna, Lato, Gadocha, etc did in the past then they're serious candidates to be in the semi-finals, at least.
