I was kind of surprised that no Roger Dean covers made the list, not because I think they are bad, but because of the provocative nature of the list. Then Mickey said the person who made list knew their stuff and it struck me: they knew where to draw the line between raising the ire of hard core prog fans and making a list that would cause bomb threats at Onion Central. |

Funny thing, I was actually looking at this album earlier and realized for the first time it was some kind of strange, ripped-up space whale (after having seen it for the first time several months ago). It always seemed interesting, but I guess I had never really thought about what the image really was. Now I find it quite... disconcerting ![]() |

Something tells me the Onion folks didn't do good research and their offices should be bombed with old rotten onions.

Love theese three. The compostitions and fonts looks pretty thought-thru. All motives are strange and surreal, but charming or atleast funny. Can't find things like that in almost any new progcovers. Btw: My alltime favorite progcover is Nursery Cryme, though. Dispite its clumsyness and naivety, its got an unique atmosphere that's been haunting me ever since i first saw, and bought it. Now here's two real 70's disasters (from 80's and on they're to many to choose from): Rick Wakeman Rhapsodies (79) Semiramis Dedicato a frazz (73) ![]() |

Ok you got me.The wakeman cover is sort of naff, and the bottom one looks like my neighbour on a good day. Having some bad tastes I do find the whale cover interesting. |

I think the Abacab cover is great. But the Invisible Touch cover is rather cheap, IMHO.

Instead, look at this one by Goblin (1978)
"The Fantastic Journey of bug Mark" !!!!!!!!!!!
![]() ![]() Very funny. Not ridiculous, though (I think). Excellent album, btw.

Has anyone mentioned Going For the One yet?
A bare assed guy in front of some shyscrapers...huh? I have always found the first 4 or 5 King Crimson album covers to be,not ridiculous, but kind of ugly. |
