I can't imagine what you must be going through, and I'm wishing and praying that everything turns out all right for everyone.

I thouight I would share this with all of you:

Note: This was read at the candlelight vigil by a close, longtime family friend:

One of the most frustrating things about Amber’s disappearance is the helplessness that we all feel about wanting to help, so much, and not knowing what to do.

Well, I believe that there is a very simple answer to that very HUGE problem.

The answer is to pray for Amber and her family.

A lot.

They do not care if you pray in a Church, a Temple, a Mosque, a forest, or on a mountaintop. Or, in some of all the thousand ways that humans connect with their creator or their source. You don’t even have to call it prayer. They do not care if you believe in God, like Amber does, or how you spell the God you do believe in.

I believe that the positive energy and Love that you create and project will bring comfort to Amber and her family.

I have a quick story to tell.  My sister Kristin prays every day; she told me that she always includes a special prayer for our now 98-year-old Grandmother who lives in York, Pennsylvania.
She prays to God that Grandma Jean gets what she prays for. She always says, “Because she loves you God, so much”. Kristin never mentioned this to anyone before, but she told me because when she called Gram one day, Grandma thanked her for her prayers saying that she feels them all the time.

So, however you are comfortable praying, the way that any individual can help in a very real way is to take the time to visualize Amber back home with her family. Actually try to picture her in your mind, sitting comfortably in a chair at home, reading a book with her loving family around her.

You don’t have to know her well, or at all.  But if you do, you may want to picture her ignoring her unfolded laundry around her too.

Just take the time to think of Amber and smile, and you may find that it brings you some comfort as well.

Joe Peters

Very sorry to hear about this.  My thoughts are with you two, Amber and her parents.  I hope for her safe return.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Hi All:
Stacy here, I know, I never post, please forgive this shy prog lover...I just want to thank all of you for your kind thoughts and words - my family really appreciates it.  You all are the best and  brightest people ever!  I think your lovely thoughts alone can possibly bring our darling Amber back to us.  When she returns I will direct her here to see your messages.  My entire family appreciates your continued prayers - thank you!!
Though we may never meet, I am in your debt,
Stacy

I would be remiss in that I can't answer each post individually but to be sure:

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and comments, prayers, support and encouragement.  They are most appreciated and heartfelt  and that is from the entire family whom I have shared this thread with.

Thanks Tony and Jean and Friede too.  You just never know who someone might know who knows something. At this point if Amber were abducted she could be anywhere. So we are just trying to raise the awareness everywhere.  National media has been slow comming around. Lots of local TV and Press though and her website now has almost 35,000 hits.

Stacy and I are just about ready to leave to join a volunteer search in the foothills and mountains surrounding the town for any kind of clue. I think we are going to very tired tonight.

I just read this for the first time. Friede and I keep our fingers crossed that everything will work out fine. I have relatives in California, though not exactly near Escondido, but I informed them nevertheless, and they will be on the lookout. all the best wishes to you and the family of your niece. since we have two girls of age 7 ourselves we can imagine how you and the parents feel

Her folks must be frantic.
Here's hoping that there's a happy outcome and soon.

Finnforest any little bit all adds up Thanks so much.  Micky thanks prayers are needed just as much.

Her is a little bit about Amber I want to share:

She had perfect attendance in school and was proud of that. She isn't a wild girl at all. No drinking, no drugs no boys. She loves to read, she loves science and is totally infatuated with wolves. She prefers to draw and write does not have a myspace or facebook page and has a core tight group of 6 friends that hang out all the time usually at Amber's house. On the day she went missing she had a check to the FFA agriculture class made out to he school to purchase a lamb. (Amber wants to go into field that deals with animals.) That check has not shown up at the bank. She did not have a spare set of clothes and even her cash was still in its place. This girl is no runaway.

Brian, I now have posted this to my Italian blog (which has some US readers) and another of my web haunts.  Small fish, but it can't hurt.

Stay strong man.

Here is everything i know at this point.

The nature of the search is to eliminate things. They still list Amber as an endangered runaway. Until they change that status the FBI will monitor but not directly get involved. They thought from the few leads they had that she was in a certain area. They have determined she is not in that area and are calling off the search. They also have eliminated the parents and the mothers live in boyfriend as suspects. They all took and passed lie detector tests. They are searching all the computers in hopes Amber may have left an online clue. Her cellphone was used before she left the house on Friday to text her grandmother and one friend. None of the texts were suspicious. She turned her cell phone off after the last text. It was turned on briefly on Saturday for a few seconds and someone tried to unsuccessfully access the voicemail. It was turned off and has not been turned on since. (This is the main reason the police thought she was still in the area. The ping they got narrowed it to 5 mile radius. It wasn't on long enough to get an exact location. It could have been her because her mother had changed the password on the voicemail trying to determine if she had listened to any)

The local poilice are looking to organize other searches in the foothills around the city. It is at this point they need to change it to possible kidnapping instead of runaway to escalate this to another level. That is what we are waiting for. Everyone in the family has known all along this was an abduction because this is just not like Amber at all.

Please continue to forward this to your contacts and ask them to do the same.  It is encouraging to note that Amber's site has had almost 30,000 hits in just 5 days. This hasn't even been broken by the national news yet either.  The more people that see this then the better chance somone who knows something can come forward.
Thanks for your continued effort and support. The whole family thanks you.

Thanks again for the contiuned support.  There is no new news yet. The parents were doing a press conference today and i would suggest you check the links on Amber's Website for media updates in the next few hours.  Right now this is the best source of information.

Also the family is holding a candlelight vigil that I will be attending :

Im sorry man, I feel real bad for you. I sorta know the feeling, because my brother got lost in Virginia in the mountains when we were visiting relitives last year, and he was missing for a few days. Luckaly someone found him and contacted us, but those couple of days were terrible.

I'm sorry to hear this.  I'm praying for her safe return as well.
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.
