Going for the one is quite good (the naked guy is symbolic of exposed, modern coldness, as is the cover), great.

Meddle and Division Bell have great album covers.

Love Beach is inoffensive but very cheesy and dull.

bad covers, methinks:

a lot of neo prog stuff just sux

Oh yeah. The original cover for Scorpions Virgin Killers. I can do bad taste as much as the next person but that's too much. I won't even describe it.

Operation by Birthcontrol. The grasshoppers eating the babies. Ironically that's what made me pick up the album and listen to it in the first place.

Actually, in my opinion, this is a very beautiful cover.

I saw many bad cover in this thread but the prize for the worst cover ever goes to this one

And in prog I really don't like this one

Yeah they were both shockers as for the cover by PHammill, its not so much its beauty - it looks OK -  but what actually is on that cover?

Bad album cover, but not for the reason I bet you're first thinking.  I'm gay so the guy's bare ass does not bother me (although I think Rush did it better with Hemispheres).  What really bugs me about this cover is the hideous red, yellow, and white lines that run across the gatefold, they're too bold and so un-fabulous.  Another thing is the skyscrapers. While I bet it looked alright on the LP format, the condensed CD version dimensions makes the concrete rows and windows too busy like a abstract pattern.  Tormato was a much superior album cover IMHO (although musically it was a weaker than this one).

Worst Cover, and quite possibly one of the worst examples of prog rock too. Bleh.

Wow. That's pretty offensive and of bad taste. What were they thinking?
For the life of me I can't see anything offensive in there. Big Phalli? How is that offensive? Or am I missing something?

It was banned everywhere so they came up with a nasty alternative that was probably worse.

Acid Motherhood is without doubt puke-inducting cover. I can stand blood, spilled guts & organs, these things easily and eat my lunch while talking about it.

But this one is, weird in worst meaning of this word.

YEP CLARKE

I guess that disco efforts of 80s in our country will be similarly terrible.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"
