I had such a strong dislike for Chris Chelios during his Black Hawk years, I never really came to terms with him being a Red Wing. He was a good defenseman and a good edition to the Wings, but he was always such a crybaby.

in the NFC North (aka the Norris Division haha).. anything is possible. Though that..err.. yeah.. is a stretch I suppose. At least things could only get better there....

I cried watching the final seconds of the North Stars last game, when they were skating off, it was unreal.
I still can't believe we lost that team. That was one of the moments I really lost it for sports. The Wild will never be the North Stars for me.
thankfully I've never lost a team I adore and grew up with like that.. so much of who you are, memories with dad, all the kind of stuff just sort of gets flushed. The business of today's sport's world... good thing I was never a Seattle SuperSonics fan..talk about f**king a city, and fanbase, for cash. Ouch...

Pisser is that the Red Wings are Chicago's opponent when they get to raise the championship banner. Damn league is really trying to renew a rivalry there. As I said above, I'm not really thrilled that the Black Hawks won, but given how much I hate Chris Pronger I guess that I can live with that result.
The Nationals were here in Detroit for 3 last week. The Tigers swept. I only made it to one of the 3 games. I had my nephew's kindergarden graduation on the Tuesday game and the Thursday game was an afternoon game, so we sold the tickets.
yeah... given that one of the few fist fights I've had in my mellow middle age years was with a Flyer fan... I was rooting against Philly as much as for Chicago.
It is nice to see the Nats improve.. the Tiger series notwithstanding.. they are playing better ball. I do think this team (within the Strasburg 6 year stay contract-wise) will be a real threat to play into October. I see a lot of the Devil Rays in them.. a lot of young talent.. more on the way.. and for once with this franchise... good upper management.

we all love Dino and want him hahah. No worries though.. he should..and will I'm sure go in as ..
a Dallas Star hahaha.
damn NHL.. if not for the commish and upper management.. we'd all be talking hockey rather than f**king basketball for the fall, winter, and spring. I do serious think I could run that league better than Bettman. Hockey does NOT belong in Texas, Florida, or Arizona. Simple as that...

You b*****ds!!! Keep away from Dino!! God I can remember his rookie years, seeing him out at the old Met with my Dad and my friends, we were maybe about 14-15 years old. People worshipped that guy here. The 80s Stars had some good teams....Neal Broten was another. I can still see scrappy Dino standing in front of the net, getting pushed and shoved and still deflecting the puck in.

Ovechkin and the Caps are coming to the D this year. We also get all of the Original Six teams in the D for the first time in years.
And oh by the way, the Tigers were losing 10 to 0 to the Mets and it is now 11 to 6 and they have the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 5th inning. Crap!!!! Damn Ryan Raburn struck out once again.
counting the days till the new season kicks off.. glad to see the Blackhawks won the cup this year though if it wasn't the Caps.
With work being a bear.. I've barely had enough time to follow DC baseball, much less the Tigers. I thought about extending my vacation one more day to see Strasburg pitch tomorrow.. but they need me back at work damnit hahah. One of these times I'll get out to the park.

Yep. He was definitely a fan favorite during his years here with the Wings. He has a number of choices but I would think he would go in as a North Star since that was when he had his formulative and most of his glory years, although he did have a number of good years for the Wings. Too bad that he never won the Cup.
