My top 10 wouldn't have included any of these except for Peter Gabriel, but that's just my opinion. Smile

I disagree somewhat...albeit I don't find Fripp as prog wonderful as everyone feels, because he did so much pop music work. I look at the complete body of "prog" work these artists have done and a couple are still doing.
Mr Peeeert is a 70s, 80s, 90s and 00's progressive rock artist....and still growing, he's a master. Gabriel in my mind is a prog genius.
Wilson is there by the popularity vote...agree.

No, I meant that these guys' most acclaimed work is from the 70's (for the most part). For Gabriel it's Foxtrot and SEBtP, for Ian Anderson, it's TAAB, for Peter Hammill it's Pawn Hearts, etc... Smile

Is Gabriel getting too much credit for his stint with Genesis (largely Banks/Rutherford composed songs!)? Hard to tell.  Do people here really like Gabriel's solo work so much as to put him ahead of Ian Anderson and Zappa?  Because I honestly haven't seen that much attention to his solo albums here.

To Catcher10: Music writing credits in Rush mainly go to Lee and Lifeson. Peart writes the lyrics.  As much as I love Peart, it's hard not to agree with the Baldies that his work is grossly overestimated.

About what one would expect here. I'm not sure so Mr. Wilson and Mr. Peart should be top ten, but can accept them there based on their popularity, which is always a factor in polls like this, not just their reall contributions.
