Scott, how is it possible for someone to, first of all, listen to KISS, second of all, listen to KISS nearly 300 times in one week?!?

I was a KISS fan before you were even born.  I listened to all of their albums, their 4 Alive concert albums, a couple of greatest hits albums, and their box set, so needless to say that was almost 300 songs.

KISS have probably two or three songs I might like but that's it.
Also, Gene Simmons is kind of an ass.

But I do like seeing STP in your sig, Abstrakt! Thumbs Up

Stone Temple Pilots are kind of underrated. It's a shame that they were labeled as just another "grunge" band. They wrote some fantastic songs!
Their first album especially! Cool

Indeed.  Core is a seminal rock album.  No. 4 is also a fantastic album, and Tiny Music... and Purple have some excellent moments as well.

I'm enjoying really digging into grunge music. Getting albums by Green River, U-Men, Skin Yard etc... Approve
"Nevermind" is a great album, but i think it's been taken way out of context. Nirvana's music was never commercial, and yet you can hear their music in shopping malls and buy backpacks with a Kurt Cobain pic on it. And everybody, no matter what music taste, seems to like their "Hits". It feels wrong to hear a female friend of mine, who listens to AVRIL LAVIGNE & BACKSTREET BOYS, sing "rape me". Ermm
There were so much better "grunge" stuff than the most popular albums, even before 1990.

I like Nirvana a lot too but I wouldn't label them as the best grunge band.  For me that's Alice in Chains.  When it comes to influence and originality, it's hard to top Layne and gang in their prime.

I only have their first three. Are their later albums worth getting?

For me, "Bleach" and "Incesticide" contain the best Nirvana Songs.
And yeah, i guess i agree there. Staley&Cantrell were like the Lennon&McCartney of the 90's.

But still, Soundgarden remains as my favorite band of that era and "genre" ApproveClap

No. 4 is absolutely worth getting.  I might like it even more than Core.  It's got some of their best material on it:

Unfortunately, Shangri-La Dee Da and their s/t are not really worth getting.

Growing up we used to have a blast partying to KISS.   For me it was their later years with Lick It Up, Animalize, Asylum, etc... which many KISS fans don't like.  But we used to listen to their Alive albums and their greatest hits Smashes, Thrashes, and Hits all of the time.  But, I think that you had to have been there for there to be any enjoyment from listening to them.

I have only recently come to like Soundgarden.  I used to not really like them at all but I'm finally starting to have some of their music "click" for me.
