Correct. So, the rule (no really a rule but let's say the general situation) is that "no males find females to have sex with or marry in progarchives". The case mentioned above proves it... Though one can say is different, since the first case you show me pertains to an actual RULE vs just a hypothesis here.
Anyway, please humor me and accept that progarchives is no dating site

The exception that proves the rule refers to a rule being implied. An example from the source: "Parking is prohibited on Sunday" proves the rule that parking is allowed Monday through Saturday. Hence, the explicit exception implied ("proved") a rule. |

![]() Can't read it right now, do you mean this is a meaningless empty phrase? Maybe it is. But in this case there's no question it IS an exception and the opposite IS the rule..

^ A lot of truth there. The scary uniting element in the US to me would be the racism.
Its true that my perspective may be a bit harsh because I live in a very racially charged and violent city. I'm quite the little race mixer, so I get to hear it from all sides. In a lot of ways, I wouldn't be that surprised if a lot of Americans started to unite out of some sort irrational racial fear. |

A desperate middle class, a message of hate which unifies towards a common enemy, a nation ravaged by a war and horrible peace conditions, hyperinflation, a pro-army mentality, a slow deterioration of the reign of liberty, all these causes John. Don't forget communism was quite strong in Germany after Bismarck, and the cries for a powerful state to control everything were there in place. If the nazis hadn't taken power, it would've been the communists, which were rather similar, though while the latter tried to ally with the working class, the former allied with the industrialists. Of course, once Hitler took power, he told them to f**k off.
Remember, Hitler gained power democratically. Other totalitarians achieved it through revolution but even this revolution had to count with popular support. In the end, it's always the people who stop believing they can do it by themselves and start believing in false messiahs... Here in the US? Difficult. The country is too big and its values individualistic (which is GOOD. Individualism =/= selfishness). But if there's a shift towards the collective and the love of the state as more important than the individual, eventually bad groups could seize this power.

I often wonder, how does an extreme element take control of a country. I don't know if you have ever been to Germany, but it is a wonderful country and I liked the people a lot. Its hard to conceive how this nazi element ended up running things. I have a very good knowledge of the fringe elements in the US, and I try to picture how they could move up in power. What circumstance would have to happen that would cause people to turn to them for answers. |

I honestly believe they have less chances than before, the candidates with more chances are:
After them comes Humala, he was second the last time, but he has lost support in the cities and rural vote alone won't ever make a President (I hope). Iván
