Blimey, Guillaume Perret is the same age as me, kind of. He's closer to June's age than my own but cool!

It's not terrible. It's just not amazing.
Live versions of De Futura Hiroshima are far better.

It's not as good as Zu's Carboniferous and it's certainly not as good as Shining's two previous albums. Definitely check out Grindstone if you haven't already.

It's not often that I share James' views in music, but this I quote for truth.

I'm going to check out a Shining album after Udu Wudu is finished. I haven't really listened to anything from the avant section

Not even Henry Cow or Cardiacs or Univers Zero or Samla Mammas Manna or Zappa or most of the other groups in the top 20 (not a big fan of Kayo Dot, so I'll leave them out)?

I've checked out Cardiacs and like them but haven't tracked down any albums. And never got round to Henry Cow, i've basically just listened to odd things, enjoyed them then never followed it up
And yeah ive obvs got a couple of Zappa albums but i was talking more obscure artists

Whether he is or not doesn't exactly matter here, he's talking about the Avant section as a whole, and Zappa happens to be there.
