Some psychedelic electronic reggae here - totally new to me, but man is this delicious!

^^ My friend just saw them in concert a couple of weeks ago.  I've heard very little of the band, and that was about 20 years ago, but I've always been meaning to check out more.  Sounds like I need to check this album out!

I see you bought the Swans too. Thumbs Up.  Prepare to be destroyed.

Now:

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Worn Copy (side 4 of vinyl copy)

100% agree....that section is a reference sound check for me on my analog system. All of Giles and McDonald's musical tinkering stuff is what I listen for.
Clarity, isolation and natural tin/bell sounds.

I love it!

Ariel Pink just ended, so now for something completely different:

For your tastes, that is very similar to mine, you should probably start chronologically with DCD. They started out as a post punk outfit with loads of melody - for then to transform completely - instigating the whole Darkwave scene on their own. Oh well this new one captures everything that's brilliant about 'em though, and Brendan Perry's vocals are even more Jim Morrison than Jim Morrison now - even if he doesn't copy them, if that makes any sort of sense... Lisa Gerrard employs a middle eastern take on yodeling that is nothing short of breathtaking. Her voice is incredible!

I heard Swans earlier and it was quite the experience! I foresee it becoming one of my favourite albums of the year, so thanks a million SteveBig smile
BTW I could actually see them on PA, if only for this album's sprawling post rock tendencies.

I saw this at the store the other day (whilst buying Swans' The Seer), but decided against it.  Perhaps I should reconsider.  The only DCD album I have is Aion, which is nice enough, but really not even rock.  Looks like they have the new one streaming on their site, so I'll have to have a listen.

Now playing, on bandcamp:
XII Alfonso Charles Darwin
Don't think I'll listen to the entire album in one sitting, though!!

Yes.  Spotify is great.  I don't pay for it however, and I have to put up with occasional adverts but its a very useful tool for listening to new (or old) music especially if I'm not sure if I want to pay for a hard copy,
