What a silly comparison. It's by far Joy Division that I listen the most to out of the two, however.

Maybe it's a question of generation (but I'm not sure: my brothers would vote for Joy Division, and they are barely two years younger than me), but I vote for Nirvana: I can't stand the vocal style of Ian Curtis and their songwriting quickly bores me. Not that I consider Nirvana perfect on the songwriting, but I can deal more easily with Cobain's crossover of punk, pop and metal influences.

I was part of the crowd that embraced Nirvana and most other acts from the 'grunge' scene, yet when I hear most of these today, I get a bad taste in my mouth. I remember the shows from back then though: 'I am angry and don't wash my hair, so why don't you leave that tub alone and get feisty with me while we jump into one another until one of us bleeds and we completely forget to listen to the actual music' Joy Division on the other hand is a band I can always listen to. Dance Dance Dance Dance........to the radio!

I like Nirvana, but Joy Division will easily take my vote.
Also, did you morph into StaaViinZ over night?

Both also propelled a seismic shift in music, dark wave and grunge, image propellers
