March of the Black Queen. If only because Queen II was the second album I ever bought and the first time music blew my tiny mind.

No, having Howe play flamenco guitar doens't make Innuendo a masterpiece... what makes the song a masterpiece is the whole of it, which is just great. Of course, that flameco part is part of the whole that makes such a great song. As for the Dylan album, I actually rather liked it... I like many other things he's done... with Yes, obviously, and I know a few of his solo albums, which have some nice stuff too, though not at the level of his work with Yes. |

A hard decision between March and Prophet's - I chose the latter. I mean, March has a great dinamicity, the only thing that kills it for me is the end of the song, I only wish it wasn't followed by another song...Prophet's, in another hand is a complete song for me. That intro and that acapella session are fantastic. One of the first progressive songs I've heard, even before knowing it was progressive. I do like BoRap, but I prefer the songs above mentioned. Never enjoyed Innuendo so much, there are many other songs I like from Queen.

Learned recently that Mr. Steve Howe played flamenco guitar on Queen's Innuendo. Does that make it a masterpiece? Apart from that Howe-plays-Dylan album, I like everything he's done.

Freddie Mercury and David Byron plus David Bowie are my all time favorite vocalists, my current fav is Daniel Gildenlow too from Pain of Salvation. However when we think of Queen and Freddie we tend to forget or some don't know that it is Roger Taylor who is singing those high notes, not Freddie. Here is an example: Roger Taylor and Queen - High falsetto collection https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JnIZGOXPi8

What's wrong with Mercury? He's a great singer. I can imagine lot's of people liking other singers over Mercury (I myself counted), but I have seldome heard people complaining about his singing. |

Melgar: The group picture of Genesis you've included here was originally part of a picture taken at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in, of course, New York City. It was part of a Rolling Stone article on the boys when they were on tour stateside, but I couldn't tell you for what album. I thought it was interesting that you picked this picture as I haven't seen it in years. It gently hints at the personality of each group member. |

There were almost a few masterpieces other than Killer Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody from the Queen catalog, but chances were thwarted because, invariably, Freddie would open his mouth.

March of The Black Queen, The Fairy Feller's Masterstroke, Ogre Battle, Great King Rat, Flick of the Wrist, Stone Cold Crazy...actually all the stuff from Queen I and II and some from their third album " Sheer Heart Attack" !
Those are the most progressive Queen albums but it seems only few know about them!

The frenetic, over-the-top insanity of March of the Black Queen makes the song special to me. I'd follow that up with The Prophet's Song (because, after all, now I know), and then Bohemian Rhapsody. Innuendo shouldn't even be included in this list.
