I didn't even know you were a fan

There used to be a lot of Rush fanboyism in shred.
Just the right amount of fanboyism to try and weigh in against all of the avant fanboyism that usually exists.

I feel like a lot of that has died down, too. I can tell I'm not the only one who's not as into it, used to be pages of non-stop discussion (or fanboyism) about various bands...every other page or so.

In other news, I found a new (to me) band with one or more of the members of Grizzly Bear, this group's called Department of Eagles. Decently similar sounding, but that's not very surprising or unwelcome.

DoE is fun. It actually predates Grizzly Bear and the two sound almost the same not just because they share a member, but because that member is one of two main songwriters for GB and the main songwriter for DoE. Ed Droste's GB songs (especially pre-Rossen GB) sound way less similar.

World music is a musical category encompassing many different styles of music from around the world, including traditional music, neotraditional music, and music where more than one cultural tradition intermingle.

Something from Dhafer Youssef; I'd specifically recommend Electric Sufi.
