Topic: Too old to R'n'R ? Posted: October 27 2015 at 19:29 |
Hi there, I'm now in my fifties and thanks to this amazing site/forum, just a few years ago I (re)discovered my passion for the music I grew up with and have never stopped to love. In fact for many many years I thought PROG had died and tried not to think much about it as to not so deepen my sorrow. I confess to have long survived (musically speaking) on a strict but rich diet of a handful of bands from the old times (you can guess, can't you: VDGG, ... ?) spiced, so to say, with just a few collected from the 80s (TALK TALK f.e.) . And, thank God, lots of female singers: SANDY DENNY, Joni Mitchel, Tracy Chapman, R. L. Jones, etc etc But then I found PA ! Although I registered back in 2011, and stop by the website since then almost everyday, only very recently posted for the first time and today here I am presenting myself. You all out here are responsible for my regaining the pleasure of listening to new GOOD MUSIC, and that has bettered my life so unexpectedly. I am very grateful to this wonderful community of music lovers and plan to stay around and share my pleasure with you for many years to come. Some Albums I Love: Fish out of Water - from the master CS Cordon Bleu - Solution PP & TAAB All Genesis up until (including) "And then there were three" Quadrophenia The first five Led Zepp Everything from 2nd fase Talk Talk Transatlantic - Whirldtour Anathema - anything they have made and I listened to Anekdoten - same as above ask me more and I'll tell you See you around, everybody Quinino (José)

actually, my path was somewhat similar - I loved prog in the 1970s, and kept on listening to a few bands from that era, but thought that prog was confined to that time and that it had really died out. Since re-discovering my passion for prog a few years ago, and finding this site, things have changed for me. First, it's great to have a community that shares your passions, and second, it's great to hear about all these new bands that are keeping the flame alive and pushing the boundaries. so welcome! I'm 57 and I say you're never to old to R'n'R!

Hello David, from what I gather, the forums are generally rather friendly and make you feel to be 'part of' and welcomed. I very much appreciate your warm words, my friend, and I'll see you around
