Topic: A Few 21st Century Prog Epics Posted: March 05 2018 at 19:39 |
It's your stereotypical "battle of the epics" poll, except they are all from the 21st century this time. I've been listening to quite a lot of modern prog recently, so I've decided to choose some epics which I believe don't get talked about enough. If you don't know all 4 of these, you may pick your fave of the ones you do know, and I encourage you to listen to the rest, they're all great compositions! May the best epic win!

For me, it's a tie between Anima Mundi and Moon Safari.

Don't know them all, but Skellefteå Serenade is a very good one.

I've listened to Skellefteå Serenade about 50 times in the last month.
It almost (but not quite) rivals The Snow Goose as the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard. Moon Safari are absolutely brilliant.

I really enjoy Ritual's The Hemulic Voluntary Band, so +1 for the epic.
