Let's kick it!

Haven't listened to a lot of 2019 releases so far, but these three deserve a mention:

1) Rustin Man - Drift Code

Seventeen years after his collab album with Beth Gibbons, the ex-Talk Talk man returns!



2) Doomed City - Poetry of Simple Things

Previously known as 5R6, this Ukrainian quartet changed the name and their style, while keeping the original line-up (quiet rare these days). Listen here!

3) Aver - Orbis Majora

So far, there seems to be a resurgence in the old standbys.

Steve Hachett - At the edge of Light
Neal Morse Band - The Great Adventure
Avantasia - Moonglow
Focus - Focus 11


and of course, many of us are eagerly awaiting the release of the new Dream Theater release, which is promised to be tighter and less indulgent than their last overblown effort.

I've only heard Ed Wynne's and Steve Hackett's latest ones from this year thus far (at least as far as prog goes). The former is definitely superior.

But, several good things on the horizon:

The only one I've bought so far is The Neal Morse Band. But I'm interested in Heather Findlay's new album which is due out in the Spring. Also I've heard good reports about the limited edition version of Mostly Autumn's White Rainbow, and would like to hear the official CD when it comes out.

There were so many new releases just in January alone.  Many of them are quite excellent.  Check out the "New Releases January 2019" thread, http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=118328&FID=3  They are all listed there along with my favorites.  I have been pleasantly surprised with some of them even bands I have never heard before and yes, Lost Crowns as mentioned by Nogbad_the_Bad is quite excellent.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I'm always broke and unemployed. It sucks to be a poor prog fan. Hopefully that will change for me in the not too distant future(and you also).

Yes, a beautiful piece that has got me quite excited for the record. One of the things I like about OE and Angel's projects generally is that he never stands still, there's always a new lineup and a new perspective.

Loved Cheeto's Magazine, Helium Horse Fly, Karfagen and Lost Crowns.  I haven't been able to locate The ID and I was very interested in that one.
