It's a continuation of the imperialistic days of a few centuries back, when the English started saying they invented and created the world ... well, they kinda helped break that flat earth idea ... so that church went after something else, other than stupid ideas and stories fit for children!

I think what makes them say that is that the had the MEDIA for it, and the USA did not ... as just about all media in America was, and is, owned by the same interests 100 years ago. They made sure they controlled what was the hit and who was going to be a star, in front of a light blue or pink screen! Europe's time with fantasies, were already 100 years old by that time in a lot of literature.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
