Just for your information: Parsec (short for "parallax of one second") is a unit of length, not of time. It is the equivalent of about 30.9 trillion kilometers.
I know, but I wasn't sure if anyone else here would be smart enough to know that a parsec is actually billions and billions of miles in distance and not a unit of time. Anyway, thanks for pointing it out. I'm still light years away from completing my A-Z of Space Rock, but at least I'm now at the halfway point in the interstellar spacetime continuum.

Thanks! It's been a really labour of love putting together this galaxy of spacey albums. I'll have more transmissions from the intergalactic neighbourhood coming up tomorrow. In the spacetime continuum, I somehow need to try and find the time to listen to all of these out-of-this-world albums, as I've barely scratched the planetary surface so far.

I like it! Amon Duul II were one on the first bands I thought of (after Hawkwind) when it comes to classic Space Rock, and YET I still haven't got around to listening to any of their albums.
Thanks for the link, although I didn't find any Space Rock on there. It looks and sounds more like a station for New Age music, judging by the following description:-

I doubt if you'd find any Hawkwind on there, but you might find a native American wind hawk.
LOL! Yeah, not the hard-core space-rock that we all enjoy, but some good music nonetheless.
I've noticed that the term "space rock" has changed over time - originally, it was mostly noodling around on the new VCO kit like Mini-Moog and VC3. Lots of swooshing sounds, low-end square-wave type stuff.
Eventually, more conventional rock instrumentation was incorporated. Hawkwind was the flagship for this sound.
I can't say that I ever was drawn to most new-age music, but some bands & musicians in that genre did appeal to me. I have a handmade Native American Indian flute, like R. Carlos Nakai plays, and it is a lovely instrument.
Hearts of Space was a big New Age label in the '80s. No space rock or prog there. Plenty of spacemusic and ambient!
I remember it. They had a radio show too if I'm not mistaken. I used to listen to it(although this was more like 90's).
Indeed, they did (Stack just mentioned it, too). The last time I think I tuned in was around '93.
John Diliberto (who posts at the other place) still hosts "Echoes" — more ambient, space, and Berlin School, less straight-up New Age.
Yep. I know Echoes and used to listen to it. I kind of got burned out on it. Yes, he posts on the other place. Echoes is sort of a mixed bag. It's basically what you said although some of the music is hard to pigeonhole. John is a bit of a prog fan too so he sneaks that in sometimes as well(usually the more softer and mellower prog stuff so it doesn't sound too out of place on the show).
