I love lots of easy-listening music that some here have called muzac. Air is one of my faves that I could put there, but a loungey one I love and want to mention is The Cardigans. I have seem some acerbity directed to The Cardigans cover of Black Sabbath's "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" (not the only time they covered Sabbath). It puts a huge smile on my face.

The Carpenters were always a bit of a guilty pleasure for me... Karen had one of the most beautiful female voices of all time. She's up there with the likes of Annie Haslam, Dusty Springfield and Mama Cass.

THE CARPENTERS Love them or loathe them, one can't deny that the Carpenters went fully prog with "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft", the most adventurous recording in their easy listening oeuvre and a paean to intergalactic contact with E.T. across the universe in a song written by the Canadian Beatles tribute band Klaatu. Listen to the sound of that Apollonian guitar played over swelling cosmic synthesized threnodies, complete with swirling violins, a pompous pipe organ, a celestial choir, classical piano and a marching band to boot! It's enough to make the likes of Yes and Genesis jealous. HERB ALPERT A horn player who doesn't need to blow his own trumpet. Herb Alpert is the "A" in A & M Records (alongside Jerry Moss) which was later sold to PolyGram for a cool $500 million! Herb Alpert led his band The Tijuana Brass from the early 1960's until the Rise of his solo career in the mid-1970's.
