Got this band on AwesomeProg charts.

Music is the refuge of souls ulcerated by happiness.

I think there might have been some staff absence issues of late (I hope all are okay). And here is the bandcamp link: https://icarobanda.bandcamp.com/album/caro

By the way, I did not find any mention of this Ícaro on Rate Your Music.

I will bring this to the attention of JRF in their team thread.
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

Hi,

This is a really nice and soft listen ... and not quite trying hard to use lyrics to make itself meaningful.

The music, by "progressive rock" terms is softer and might even be considered "Easy Listening" but that would be too simple by comparison, but an attempt to say something that fits somewhere in the middle ... and finally ... FOR ME ... no thrashing of a guitar or a bad drummer counting numbers when a metronome would be better and calling it "progrock" !!!

Very nice stuff ... listening to the whole album! Already got through everything through Mono. And will continue on ... and on ... and likely have to do so a 2nd time! Listening to it as a whole album, seems to make it even better, and by the time you get into Mono, the timing and decisions for the guitar and the rest of the music is excellent, and well defined. The album is full of those moments, though I have my doubts that the "prog" folks will stick to it ... regardless, it is excellent music!

I was wondering if this would be better served in JMA instead of here, though not as many chances to be heard and seen as here!

I think I listened to this way too many times ... bandcamp now gives me the signup thing and won't let me pass ... oh well, so much for the nice example, and ability to listen to it ... I imagine that one day, the chance to hear anything will be gone because of commercial interests ... to the sad refrains from the bands that will not have a chance ... and we will never hear them. 1984 is alive and well and continues to dominate!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Hello.

I'm here to make my contribution by telling you about a band that I love but which is unfortunately totally unknown in the progressive sphere. This band is called Ícaro and their first album released in 2023 is extraordinary.

It's symphonic prog tinged with jazz/fusion (without the violins/saxophone or trumpet), we are more on the setting of atmosphere than on big technique which can quickly seem inaudible in my opinion, it's melodic, harmonious, enchanting, the guitar is excellent, the keyboards too.

I offer you a link to the first track of the album to give you an idea: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rj1VsWW35rY&pp=ygUQSWNhcm8gYWJha2hkYWLDqQ%3D%3D

Personally, with the group Quasar ( argentinian too )who released their album at the same time, we have here the two best prog albums of recent years (this is only my opinion of course 😉)

L'album est aussi disponible sur Spotify pour info 😉

Enjoy
