Not sure if you will see this so I may pm you, but my neighbour two houses down is from Italy, maybe 70 or so. It's his cottage. Nicer than my little winterized cottage I live in. I walked over yesterday with a handful of RPI cds. We went through them one by one. PFM, Banco, Sorrenti, Battiato, Le Orme, Ossana and Alphataurus. He only recognized one name and that was Franco Battiato, mentioning to me that he had died. Also my daughter who travels the world pretty much monthly says Italy is her favourite country right now. She was just in a city 2 hours north of Rome for a week.

Man, I love all these comments on our music. I ended up picking King Crimson, but of the non seventies records I like the one that sounds like it's from the seventies, "Epilog" from Anglagard.

I'd like to give some love to Moonshine as one of the best Neo bands from the era, but I can't deny the brilliance of so many other works here.

Genesis > Camel > Rush > DT > Satellite > Supertramp > KC > Marillion

all very close in quality actually; that is a very difficult poll to judge, but I think Genesis is the best...

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

I'll go with The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway over L'isola di nient, despite the title track and Via Lumière being so great, and Mirage. I guess this order would work for me today of those I have been into:

1. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
2. L'isola di niente
3. Mirage
4. Brilliant Trees
5. Starless and Bible Black
6. Uzed
7. Crime of the Century
8. Epilog

My top lists are actually very different for each of these years, but I do like all of the 70s choices. Incidentally, I would have gone with Red had that been the King Crimson choice, but leaving it out might make for a more balanced poll.
