2015 = awesome year for prog

And Steve Hackett man.

Some excellent releases to far. The long awaited albums of Nice Beaver and Anekdoten are instant masterpieces. Those of Cailyn Lloyd and La Coscienza di Zeno are worth a honourable mention as well.

I think last year was stronger.

I am really looking forward to the Leprous album. I plan to get the Steve Hackett album soon. The Anekdoken album is excellent too. There are too many to list. I do not think last year was better, but I agree with the folks that say any year with program is excellent. :)

The highlights for me, so far, are Karda Estra's Strange Relations, Ghost Rhythms' Madeleine, October Equus' Live at Rio Festival 2014 and Vespero's Fitful Slumber Until 5am.

Angel Ontalva is one of the best-kept secrets of the current prog scene. All the releases he's been involved with are nothing less than outstanding. Also agree on the Ghost Rhythms album (the band are currently under evaluation by the Eclectic Prog team), while I haven't heard the new Karda Estra yet.

Anyway, in my opinion the best releases of this year so far have come from little-known bands or artists - with the sole exception of Anekdoten.

I am a big fan of pretty much all Angel's projects.   Off topic, but I wanted to thank you for hipping me to Oteme's Disenchanted Garden album on your blog. That has turned out to be one of my favourite records of the last few years.

Thank you! I hope to start writing again in the near future. Now I am enjoying a well-deserved break, after working so hard on those reviews for the past few years.

A big seconded on this one, haven't heard the Nice Beaver yet.
