Well I used to love The Flower Kings, but that was a few years ago. Time changes everything, just check it out once more to see if your opinion changed.

I've always been a bigger fan of the Reingold-era Flower Kings, the slight jazzy touch he added is simply great in albums like Space Revolver and Unfold the Future.

that's how i kinda feel too. Space Revolver was something i wanted to check out because i heard of all the jazz stuff. I love jazz, as many members here may already know. This is why i want to check out Unfold the Future. My mood lately (as in last couple of months) has been mostly leaning toward symphonic prog rock, so i also want to check out Flower Power.

I'll see what others say first. Im not getting any new TFK right away, as im still exploring the rest of SWA.

Yeah Wink, you can't keep a great band down.  2 years and still going fairly strong.  Imagine what'd happen if we actually had a new TFK album to celebrate? Tongue.

And just think how many of the old guard would come back with a new album ;)

I'm telling you people, there will be no new Flower Kings album. Agents of Mercy are the Flower Kings now.

Roine doesn't even mention them anymore. In interviews and stuff he's now "Roine Stolt of Agents of Mercy and Transatlantic".

Come on people, their last album was in 2007. And it was a great one. They got Zoltan back and everything. Time to move on now.

I actually just downloaded The Flower King since I am a big fan Transatlantic. Very unique music, very bright and happy, which is very unusual in this day and age :p

Harry, ye of little faith!!  I'm sure there'll be a new TFK album soon though whether it's this year is another matter.  Fingers crossed though as Roine has mentioned this quite a bit recently.

Pretty good chance of a new Arena album too, and I know you'd be happy with that.

It certainly won't be this year. Both Roine and Nad Sylvan mentioned they're already writing for the Agent's third album (and a wide assortment of other project's on Roine's end). Jonas is working on a new Karmakanic album. Hasse's already talking about working on new material for the Musical Companion and another "secret" project. Pretty sure they all have this year booked.

Not that I mind. The Agents, HFMC, and Karmakanic are all fantastic projects that deserve your love and attention.

Whatever happened to Tomas though? Did anyone hear Eggs & Dogs? I don't think people even cared enough to pirate that one. Kinda sad

This is a direct quote from a very recent blog from Roine:

"2011 may even see a new TFK album or at least work on such a piece"

So, I'm very happy to report that you are wrong Wink

This is one of the things I love about the Flower Kings and the whole TFK family tree actually.

They are all so positive, upbeat and spiritual and it's very inspiring to have that in this day and age.

Contrast this with, say, Steven Wilson's lyrics which are all negative doom and gloom. I like PT but for f***s sake cheer up LOL

You Are is a fabulous album, and one I'd wholeheartedly recommend to anyone on here.  Typically of Tomas it's a bit quirky in parts but there's loads of sensational full-on prog to delight any TFK fan.  I for one much prefer it to either of the AOM albums.

The only album I'm really into much is Space Revolver, but it's one of my most listened-to albums ever.

Their material takes time for me to appreciate, but I also have Back in the World of Adventures, Retropolis, Stardust we Are, and Adam and Eve.  All decent albums that I just have to listen to more.

I really enjoy Agents of Mercy....I am hopeful TFK release something soon, but agree probably not till next year. What I have heard from Roine is he wants to continue with whatever band will record and right now that seems to be Transatlantic and AoM.

Thanks for posting this! The symphonic piece that Roine talks about sounds amazing.
