Well, umm, Images and Words is regarded as one of the benchmark prog-metal albums, FWIW.
It isn't that 'extreme' as such.

Having never listened to KISS myself, I'm not quite sure what's the next album I could have these kids listen to lead them in the right direction. Mustn't be too harsh of a shock, but it would have to be good. Some very accessible metal-prog, perhaps?

Oh come on, tell them while they're young, so when they get older they get less disappointed:P

I never really figured KISS was particularly badass though.

Oh, I can't do that, they're 12, it'll crush them.

But the biggest KISS fan in the classroom suddenly looked all confused as if that notion didn't go along with his idea that KISS was bada$$... yet he didn't argue, so seems like he instinctively knew that I was right and that it meant couldn't be as great as he originally thought.

I think we might have saved this one Wink

Seriously though, it's sad when someone comes to a forum board purely to be as mega serious as possible.

I see he's still active.

He's publicly declared that he no longer wishes to engage with us poor, intellectual lowlights here at ProgArchives.  I for one, wish to take him at his word.

(odd, I use "he/him" a lot - no reason it couldn't have been a woman, I suppose).

Kind of interesting that for someone who was such a wordsmith, that Winterlight had only done 8 reviews, all of classic albums and all ratings only.
