I imagine Dylan Carlson, when making this album, was listening to and/or reading about Tibetan Bhuddist ritual music, in which low, brash horns are played to scare off demons. There are even points where the guitar drones sound a bit like the horns themselves.

I sound like Toaster Mantis. LOL Not a bad thing.
