I HATE Sinfield's work with a passion, particularly on the Islands album. I find his lyrics are embarrassingly cliched, lack any subtlety, and at their heart completely meaningless. And all of them wrapped up with enough pomposity to make Rick Wakeman blush.
I much prefer Palmer-James's lyrics; mayhaps a little too Baroque for some, but most of the stuff is cringe-free. Give him the job, not Sinfield!

Sinfield without doubt deteriorated, but you don't like his work on ITCOTKC?

I like em too , especially on Islands and Lizard.
On another note, Sinfield's lyrics more pompous than Wakeman, I think
not!!! Besides, John Anderson's lyrics seem very meaning less on
certain songs. Sinfield may not be the best lyricist, but to me, he is
one of the more original and creative. Just personal preference, I guess .

Progger you need to get over this Fripp hating thing.....just accept most other proggers adore him. Hes abarasive and annoying at times but definately worth more than a dozen guitarists today in terms of originality and technique......he does need a good songqriter in tow though....

^Keith Tippett RARELY, if EVER, plays the electric keyboards (at least
on the albums I have that feature him). He mainly sticks to the
acoustic piano .

Yeah, I just realized that. I was going by the Lizard album...pretty sure he plays electric keys on that one.

Yeah, I think that's the only album I have with him on it where he
plays electric keys. Still, a keyboard wizard though and HIGHLY
underrated.

band, but the music would probably be quite crap |
I agree..except
I would vote for the additon of the excellent Mel Collins...

Check out my audio interview here on the PA with David Cross and I
think you find Cross corrects me naming the lyric writer Richard
Palmer-James - has some nice lyrics on Cross' s latest Closer Than Skin

I've read in a book about robert fripp that when he just began playing he was tone deaf and lacked any sense of rythm.
The best line-ups are the double trio\ larks' tongues line ups.

Greg Lake - Vocals Wetton - Bass Bruford - Drums Fripp - Guitar Adrian Belew, Vocals, Guitar
The band would have Lake and Belew alternating on the singing. I like Greg Lake's singing very much, but he is not better or worse than Adrian Belew, as I love 80's King Crimson. Hell, I love everything that Belew has done with them.
