"Love Me Do" or "Help" was not Rock and Roll because in the early sixties the Rock and Roll like Deep Purple, Creedence, and Cream didnt exist. If you don't understand what the Beatles did for music, then you have no business talking about them. Almost all the greatest bands of every genre can be rooted to the Beatles.

The Beatles early stuff might of been lightweight, but their later stuff was hardly light or pop... they did some great albums... Revolver, Sgt. Peppers, the White Album... They have their place in rock history.. .and nothing you guys say or do will change that in anyway!
That being said... my favorites
- Led Zep
- Allman Bros
- CSN
- The Who
- Thin Lizzy

The Beatles may have written some very silly tunes, but they have their share of awesome ones as well.
The Beatles, without a doubt, are the greatest band...ever....prog bands included.

I think I can actually agree with Reed Lover in his order, but with the Beatles a little higher. Zeppelin certainly isn't white trash music. I'll give you that Lynyrd Skynyrd might be. Zeppelin certainly is #1. And Hendrix is obviously white trash rock, jsut look at the guy, he's about as white as you get.

I actually think the top 5 are pretty close to the order I would have put them in as they are listed in the poll with maybe Cream being in there somewhere and Jefferson Airplane right after.
