Too many to choose from but off the top of my head:
- The Cure
- The Stranglers
- Depeche Mode
- Souxie and The Banshees
- Dead Can Dance
- Alice In Chains
- The Smashing Pumpkins ( up until recently)
- Simple Minds
- Talking Heads
- Transglobal Underground (with Natacha Atlas)
I know the criteria was 5 - just too hard not to include more.

I'm too lazy to list 5. But - 1st would be definitely Dead Can Dance.
Simply one of the most unique musical collectives that existed. Very minimalistic music though - total opposite of prog, but magical none the less.

If GYBE isn't prog/PA-worthy, then 75% of post-rock that we accounted as progressive (erm... ) goes down in flames. 1. Keith Jarrett 2. Esbjörn Svensson Trio 3. Led Zeppelin 4. Laurie Anderson (well, she's not here ) 5. uhm...R.E.M.? I don't know, terribly underdeveloped in anything apart from classical, jazz and prog.
