Nothing will ever beat Turn Loose the Swans IMO  , but the cover artwork for the new one is absolutely stunning I agree.

I dislike a lot of what has been posted, but some are very good (like the above). I especially like the covers that don't try to look like metal album covers (like the above). One of my favourites:

Personally, I hate most modern computer-drawn metal album covers. Give me the hand-painted stuff any day. (Same goes for prog album covers.)  Utterly evil.  Okay, not actually a metal album...I know! Still, love the mysteriousness of this cover.  I don't care if it's filled with Orcs, I want to live here.  My winter cottage away from Minas Morgul.

Some classics: Metallica- Master of Puppets  King Diamond- Them  Slayer- South of Heaven  I'll add more when I can think of them. Most of my metal albums are at my parent's house, and my memory is failing me.
