I don't remember much from III I, but I remember it having more dark ambient parts and better production than this on. Didn't really enjoy this one, and I'm not a big fan of III I either. I was disappointed by this band in general. I thought that the whole black metal with dark ambient would sound interesting. But it turns out to me, they are as interesting as their song and album titling.

When it comes to the two "IL Tempio..." albums it's hard to pick one over the other. The self titled album has excellent piano and organ and strong Italian vocals that mix well with the music. The guitar solos were clean and blending but also heavy at times. To me, AlieNatura has a slightly more symphonic sound and a bit of 70s RPI. Like the first, it also has excellent guitar, versatile keyboards and strong vocals. I am embarrassed to say that I have the DVD but haven't watched it yet since I've been doing so much listening to recent purchases. |
I think we can just call it a draw, and say they're both great albums, no need to favour one over the other! Oh, the DVD is AMAZING!! It's probably way too long, but if you love the band, you'll never want to stop watching it. I put it on all the time, it is mesmerizing! (Sam, that reminds me, I still have to send you that DVD!!) Now playing:

Ok you made me pull it out so I'm currently listening to it (I'm half way through). After a while you get use to the sound so it begins sounding like a normal album But yeah this is good, mostly good with some really fine moments.
