How does this compare to Dark Space III I? I wasn't too impressed with III I.
I don't remember much from III I, but I remember it having more dark ambient parts and better production than this on. Didn't really enjoy this one, and I'm not a big fan of III I either. I was disappointed by this band in general. I thought that the whole black metal with dark ambient would sound interesting. But it turns out to me, they are as interesting as their song and album titling.

The self titled album has excellent piano and organ and strong Italian vocals that mix

To me, AlieNatura has a slightly more symphonic sound and a bit of 70s RPI. Like the
first, it also has excellent guitar, versatile keyboards and strong vocals.
I am embarrassed to say that I have the DVD but haven't watched it yet since I've been
doing so much listening to recent purchases.

I think we can just call it a draw, and say they're both great albums, no need to favour one over the other! Oh, the DVD is AMAZING!! It's probably way too long, but if you love the band, you'll never want to stop watching it. I put it on all the time, it is mesmerizing!

(Sam, that reminds me, I still have to send you that DVD!!)

Now playing:

That's a fine Italian album there, Telestrat! Which do you prefer, this one or the debut? Have you seen their amazing live DVD?!

Ha! If that track appeared on a Caravan album, I wouldn't bat an eyelid! But no matter how much I listen to `Breathless' (and I have really tried to like it!), I still come away underwhelmed. Of course that track near the start `Echoes' is the best thing on it, but so much of the rest leaves very little impression on me. Some people seem to really enjoy the album and think highly of it, but for me personally, I think even those later albums `The Single Factor' and `Stationary Traveller' are better!
I agree, Echoes is the best track and Summer Lightning is a cool Disco Prog track Cool It's a nice album but not great, better than 'The Single Factor' in my opinion though.

I remember it being a good album, not as exciting as the previous albums but still good, and top that with some 80's sound! I'll need to revisit I guess.

I only finally picked up abn LP of this a few weeks ago, Sagi, after being on the lookout for it for some time. I agree with all you say! It's still got terrific playing (of course!), and is never less than very good, but it's probably a little overlong with a few less interesting moments here and there, and the production is inconstent! But I certainly don't have regrets snapping it up!
Ok you made me pull it out LOL so I'm currently listening to it (I'm half way through). After a while you get use to the sound so it begins sounding like a normal album Tongue But yeah this is good, mostly good with some really fine moments.
