Yeah, Rob (Epignosis) has been shaming me into writing more reviews.

I don't think I can be as prolific as some of the others around here, but I'll try to get a few out every so often.  That "album of the month" deal, if it gets implemented, will be a good kick in the ass for me as well.

What I like about it as well - to me it's something for the prog veterans around here, the ones that are looking to dig deeper.  The newbies have plenty of resources - the top 20 albums, the top 100 - to get them started and keep their appetite whetted, but when you've been around the block, so to speak, we all know how boredom can set in.  This might be a great way to keep those kind of folks engaged and excited.

Difficult to do tho, for me. I need to get back into the habit of writing. And do I talk about the history of the album, what I like about the album, or over analyze everything? Got a bit of a trilemma going on...

I need to figure out a good combination of 2 out of the 3. If I try doing all 3 I fail at some parts and then have some massive review that I find difficult to read.

Keep it short and sweet Ben.  I don't want to read War and Peace when researching an album.

Today has been the most surreal day, talking to Pete French about music and stuff as he fixes the entry door to my house that I broke a few days ago.

I can relate... Chris Squire is coming to fix my stopped up toilet when he gets out of the hospital....

Well saidClap! And Pat, your review was just that... Short, sweet, and to the point, covering ALL the necessary informationThumbs Up. Though an avid reader, I tend to be put off by monster reviews that analyse an album's minutest details. My own style is quite different.. I wrote three reviews in the past couple of days, and may well do another one today, but I'd never call myself prolific.
