Emerson is very good and quite an inovator of sounds, and very dynamic in playing but i bet there are better musicians out there, though i like his somehow avant-garde piano playin on some of the shorter ELP songs, he is the most avant in ELP imo

By the way, who or what is Jandek?
It's the "band name" for a more or less anonymous, reclusive avant garde Texas musician, who prefers to be referred to as "a representative of Corwood Industries" (his record label). Little is known about him, and he's been putting out strange records regularly since 1978. Since 2004, he's performed occasional live shows with local musicians accompanying him on mostly free-form music.
I hadn't ever really read up on him but he seems to be a very interesting individual. According to wikipedia, he wrote seven novels but burned them after they were rejected by publishers. I would kill to read those.

My iPod randomly shows album cover pictures on it, and I looked down this morning and saw a red car parked behind a mirror with the sun reflecting off of it. I really should listen to that album again soon.

Chicago and the Doobie Brothers are playing here tonight. I've seen Chicago about 5 or 6 times live. I had considered going, but didn't buy tickets, and now that the day has come, I really don't feel like dealing with going to the show.

I really have no desire to go to a concert tonight anyway. I even decided that Jandek was too much trouble this past weekend, and didn't go. Since the concert was in Athens, it would have pretty much eaten up most of my day, and I just didn't have the time. Too bad, because I've really been into live Jandek material lately.

Looks like they were in these parts about 2 weeks ago. I've not checked them out. I believe that I was told that their vocals would not be to my liking.
