I work in a warehouse, that's how. Though lately I've been doing only two three hour shifts a week, so I haven't been listening to as much music as I used to. Plus their songs are all pretty short, so that's only like ten albums a week. Once I listened to 17 Rush albums in one day.

I await my hate mail...I can't believe I was the first out of 53 ratings and reviews to give this a one.

I loved the film and the score....but still enjoyed your review Robert!  I only wish you had spoken more about your feelings towards the content, as a Christian.  So many people were offended by that project, I actually remember it being a fictional story with a pro-faith ending.  It's been years, but doesn't the film finish with Christ choosing the pain of death over "the easy way out" offered him by the devil?

I must confess that I have not seen the movie, nor read the book, which is why I felt it important to go ahead and review the album on its own merits before associating it with the film.

Yeah, that hurts. Superb soundtrack.

It was the only album my father would listen to, during 40 days of grief after grandma passed away.

Well, I was careful to note that it is primarily in the context of progressive rock that I rate it the way I do.

I feel this is music that requires the visual element to be effective- that isn't a bad thing, really.  There are a number of soundtracks that I think are awful simply because they are separated from the film.

And that's probably my only caveat.  I think a film score deserves some consideration for how well it supports the film it is intended for.  In this case, when you see the beautiful shots in this film, the music behind it is working VERY well.

But without seeing the film, I can understand how you feel, and I love the Target candles section referenceClap

I suspected as much. I would simply abstain. I don't rate music badly because it's not prog. I just comment that it's not prog (and those who love more the review-part than the review-part will see the comment), and then move on to review music.

Generally true. Not in this case, for me.

My kid is going to do something tomorrow night too, but I'm not going to that.

I'm going to stay home and be a ghoul.
